Our love story is a testament to God’s perfect timing, a beautiful orchestration that only God could ordain. Akin and Tomi first crossed paths on Sunday, March 19th, 2023, at RCCG Victory Temple in Lorton, Virginia. Both were called to the altar during a special ministration by guest minister, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo as part of a demonstration of the union of two individuals in marriage. Akin who was summoned by the congregation, found himself alongside Tomi, a first-time visitor at the church who had not planned to be at the service that day. As Pastor Kingsley playfully noted their similar names—Tony and Tomi—it became a moment neither could have anticipated; a prophetic moment that was planned by God.

After the demonstration, they returned to their Sunday routines, unaware of the divine connection that was about to blossom. Akin’s friends, also known as the embassy, played an instrumental role in their connection. They sought out Tomi’s Instagram profile and encouraged Akin to reach out to her. In his own stylish way, Akin slid into her DMs, intrigued by the woman who had captured his attention. To Tomi’s surprise, Akin’s determination sparked her curiosity, leading her to explore the depth of this newfound connection. As they began to converse, they discovered a remarkable bond, sharing laughter and passion rooted in their love for Christ. Hours slipped away as they delved into each other’s hearts, revealing their authentic selves.

Tomi recognized Akin as “the one” when she felt completely at ease in his presence; his genuine nature made her feel safe and understood. Akin, in turn, saw in Tomi a generous spirit, always ready to offer encouragement, wisdom, and support. Their faith and similarities pioneered their love, and they anchored their courtship in the scripture from Genesis 2:22 “Then the Lord God made a woman out of the rib he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.” It was as if God had fashioned them as kindred souls, destined to complement each other perfectly.
